AND SO, MY YEAR LONG GRAPHIC DESIGN CHALLENGE BEGINS
I've been professionally designing now for the past 9 years. In hopes to keep the creativity flowing, I am undertaking a personal design challenge for a year. The goal is to design something new everyday. The themes will vary from month to month, but shouldn't be too rigid to the point where the creative aspect is being smothered. I post the new design everyday on my twitter account, so if you want to follow the daily progress feel free. And don't worry, if you miss one on twitter. After each block of 30 days, I'll post the collected designs here on my site.
I encourage any graphic designers, artists, writers, etc. that feels like they could use a creative boost to give this challenge a go. Feel free to try the ones I'm doing or create your own. At the end of the day this should be something you enjoy putting time towards and makes you feel inspired again.
RULES
Days 1 to 30
Below are the rules/theme I tried to stick to for the first 30 days of the challenge.
- Color is focus (typography can be used, but should be secondary)
- No photography
- Abstract representations
- Use geometric shapes
- Limit to no longer than 1 hour designing it
- Use somewhere between 2-6 colors
- Base the colors off of something in the real world (No sampling from anything on the web)
DESIGNS
Days 1 to 30
So that collects the first thirty days. Comment, share, critique. If you have one that you created yourself, I'd love to see and follow your progress as well.
See you in 30.
*A side note, I missed two days in this group, but picked up the designs the following day until I hit the 30.
