CAPTURING LIGHT WITH SLOW SHUTTER SPEEDS
This months challenge brought me back to the camera and continued with doing more analog work instead of solely being on the computer. Years ago I had messed around with shooting a flashlight with a slow shutter speed, which creates these unique looking light streaks. I was shooting these layouts with a shutter speed between 6 to 8 seconds.
Now I had some time to devote a segment to just this technique. I mainly went free form with these and tried creating interesting visuals rather than having a complex concept behind each of them. I explored a few with letters, but for most part I dealt with the space and capturing a different angle with the camera. I had my next challenge in mind towards the end of this and got excited about working on them, so I cut this month's design count down to 20 instead of 30.
RULES DAY 177 TO 196
Below are the rules/themes I tried to stick to for this months challenge.
- Use a DSL camera and flashlight only.
- All light rays had to be created manually. No photoshop creation.
- Time allowed around 45 minutes to an hour.
DESIGNS DAY 177 to 196
So that's another twenty down. Comment, share, critique. Again, if you have a challenge that you created yourself, I'd love to hear about it and follow your progress as well.
See you next month.
